May we introduce ourselves Veerle Hammerstein and Marcel van Gessel. It is an “everlasting love” that we have with Quinta Amarela.
When we bought the country house in 2005, we immediately decided to improve something on the Quinta every year.
The result is impressive, take a look at the photos or take a virtual tour.
Our country house always has something enchanting on us, we hope you will have the same experience.
In 2024 we have built a whole new pool with Jet Streamer, but also for the children we have created fun activities around the Quinta. The rental is in the hands of René , speaks the language and has lived in Portugal for 25 years.
He lives on the estate, gives you a Magical Mistery Tour in which you will be familiarized with all the in´s and outs of Quinta Amarela.
He is also your contact for any questions. In this booklet we provide information about the various possibilities to make your stay even more enjoyable.

(with
beach beds). This is a fine place for coffee, lunch and drinks.
In the summer months you can take the ferry from Fuseta to Isla de Fuseta. A very
vast island off the coast. Here in the summer months you will find a fine beach bar Barraquinha

Olhão

Olhão is an authentic fishing town with a beautiful market hall. Especially the old part with the
narrow streets with beautiful buildings with the typical Portuguese tiles is worth visiting (and getting lost)
.
The market hall was designed by the famous architect ‘senhor’ Eiffel. At the market
you can buy fresh produce every day (except Sundays). On Saturday mornings the market, with
stalls outside, is even slightly larger. There are a number of nice cafes around the market hall.

Islands

The Ria Formosa national park, besides being a nature reserve with plenty of biking and
hiking opportunities, also consists of five islands located just off the coast. The islands listen to
the names Ilha da Barreta, Ilha da Culatra, Ilha da Armona, Ilha de Tavira and Ilha de Cabanas. Also
there are two peninsulas, Península de Ancão (with Praia de Faro) and
Península de Cacela. These, or any of the islands are well worth a visit.
Armona
From the port of Olhão you can take a ferry to the islands of Ilha da Culatra and Ilha
da Armona. Armona is the largest island with wide sandy beaches. It is fun to walk there

.
Culatra and Farol
From Olhão you can also take a ferry to the beautiful Culatra and Farol. The village of

BEACHES

With some 200 km of coastline, the Algarve has plenty of beaches. We highlight a few here.
Praia de Barril, you can take the steam train near the parking lot or you can take a nice
walk of about 15-20 minutes to this beautiful beach. There are a number of
restaurants just before you enter the beach. Here you will also find a toilet block with showers.
There are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent and if you walk 1.5 km to the right, you will arrive at the only,
official naturist beach of the Eastern Algarve.
The previously mentioned beaches of Fuseta, Ilha de Fuseta, Ilha de Tavira, Armona, Farol and
Culatra.

Benagil, a popular and well-known beach located in the central part of the Algarve. This beach
can be very crowded especially in summer, but even then it remains beautiful. You can take a boat trip
past the famous caves, www.tarugatoursbenagilcaves.pt or enjoy the view from O
Pescador Restaurante, 282354017
Miradouro da Ponta da Piedade near Lagos, You’ll find limestone rock formations which owe their
whimsical shapes to erosion and weather influences. The coast between Lagos and
Albufeira has several stretches of coastline with huge limestone rock formations but those of Ponta
da Piedade are very special.
Cabanas Velhas, near Sagres, small, hidden beach with a nice beach bar.
Carrapateira, is a bit far away from Oásis Azul but if you are planning a day trip to the

Hiking: In the attachment we have mapped out some walks for you with departure
from Oásis Azul. There are plenty of possibilities here in the area. While walking
always be alert for stray dogs. Portuguese keep dogs as guard dogs and they
can be somewhat unpredictable. Should you feel threatened then throwing a
stone (they are almost everywhere) can help. Not with the intention of hitting them, but
to scare them off. This and That Waste
You can leave residual waste at the end of your stay. We would ask that you do dispose of your residual waste
in between stays yourself. It is convenient to do this often so that pests do not have a
chance. Near us, on the public road, are containers where you can deposit your waste in
the gray containers. Paper, plastic and glass you can throw away in the bin on our
parking lot.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in the apartments and on the shared terrace.
Cleaning
For stays longer than 7 nights we clean once a week. The used
towels and bed linen will be replaced.
Upon departure it is expected that the apartment is left tidy.

I.e. dishes
done and all belongings are in the place as the apartment at the beginning of the rental was found
.
An additional interim cleaning is possible for € 30.
Dirty laundry
Towels and tea towels can be changed every 4 days. Let us know if
you want clean towels.
Washing
It is possible to do your laundry with us for € 5 euro per wash (max. 10 kg, incl. detergent).
Please let us know the day before. You can deliver the laundry in a laundry basket at our
and you will get the laundry back fresh and washed (wet). There is a laundry rack to hang the laundry on
. There is a laundromat in Fuseta, should you prefer to do the laundry yourself.
Fire
Portugal is unfortunately known for its forest fires. Since little or no rain falls here for months in the summer
everything is very dry. A small spark can lead to large fires. Therefore, go
very consciously with fire and with candles and cigarette butts, for example. Do not throw anything
that is flammable away into nature!
Safety
Portugal is one of the safest countries in the world but even here, stay alert. Especially in the
high season, do not leave anything valuable in your car near crowded beaches and always lock the door of your
apartment when you leave.
Complaints
If something is not to your liking, tell us!
We are in possession of a complaints book.
