Mini-Hemp Litter
HempFlax Mini-Hemp Litter is made from the fine wood core of fibre hemp. The litter
is suitable for the cages of small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and birds. The natural
absorbency of hemp wood is considerably higher than that of conventional materials and
it absorbs moisture, odours and ammonia better, too. It is also durable, which prevents the
creation of a mushy pulp in the cages.
Mini-Hemp provides animals with a hygienic and comfortable living environment. It is very
user-friendly and can remain on the ground for much longer than other types of litter.
HempFlax litter is currently sold in countries including Belgium, Germany, Denmark and
Australia. In the Netherlands alone, HempFlax litter is sold in 350 stores.
Mini-Hemp is also perfect for use as cat litter. To date, Albert Heijn refuses to sell Mini-Hemp
litter in its supermarkets. That’s a shame; the sale of hemp may be a big step, but it’s a
‘sustainable choice’ according to the Dutch Consumer’s Association.
